Now the sun really is here, you may have tried to squeeze into last year’s shorts and tees! New Metafit™ dates and new Pop Up Boot Camps
Last month I introduced my new class, Metafit™, which has been a real hit with those who’ve tried it. Everyone has loved it so far, even though some people have had aching legs or arms the next day! Look out for the exciting new videos of our Metafit™sessions on boxmoorfitness.co.uk, coming soon.
Metafit™ Sessions are 45mins (maximum) with 15-20 mins intense workout. They take place outdoors on Tuesday evenings (see dates and times below) and every Thursday morning at 9:30am. The fee is £5 pay as you go
Here are the new Metafit™ dates for June:
· Thursday mornings – every week at 9.30am
· Tuesday evenings - times vary so please check. This month, they take place every Tuesday at 7pm, except on 25th June (7:30pm). July Metafit™ dates and times are to be confirmed – watch out for my next newsletter!
A new term has started for Pop Up Boot Camp and we are now located outdoors. Join me for Pop Up Boot Camp every Thursday 6.45pm-7.45pm. The fee is £7 pay as you go or (for a discount) pay in advance - just £40 the whole 8 week term, which runs from 11th June to 25th July.
All Metafit™ sessions and Pop Up Boot Camps take place outdoors at Lockers Park Lane Fields, Hemel Hempstead HP1 1TF. Look out for the big Union Jack flag!
What's happening at Boxmoor Fitness?
Over the last few months, I have been training three bridesmaids to meet their weight loss goals so they can get into a smaller dress size than was originally fitted for them. With all three weddings in June, my work here is done with great results and two dress sizes dropped (each) from all three clients! If you would like to try some personal training sessions, or perhaps you know someone else who can benefit from a little extra attention, I have extended my May special offers into June for anyone with this newsletter.
Personal training is £40 for a one hour session. Why not try one? My June special offers for personal training are:

June healthy eating tip - Drinking your calories
Did you know that calories from liquids don’t register in the brain like food does? This means it’s easy to drink extra calories and be unaware of just how much extra energy you’ve consumed. Now the sun is out, companies are promoting their blended iced drinks such as Frappuccinos. They are fine as a treat, but bear in mind that an Iced Latte has only 87 calories whereas a Frappuccino has a whopping 274! Choose wisely and, if in doubt, look up a drink’s calories in the nutritional info you can find online or in store.

Home made Fresh Guacamole
Easy to make in just 5mins
6 servings (or 4 greedy ones)
· 3 ripe avocados (4 if they are small)
· Half teaspoon salt (level, not heaped)
· 2 to 3 limes, juiced, to taste (1-2 limes if they are big)
· 4 tablespoons fresh coriander, chopped
· 1/2 fresh green or red chilli, or to taste, minced (I prefer red as they are hotter)
· 4 Spring Onions (white and green parts), finely sliced
All these ingredients can be found in your local supermarket.
Step 1 - Get everything, except the avocados, chopped and ready.
Step 2 - Just before you want to eat, peel and stone the avocados and put the flesh in a bowl.
Step 3 - Dissolve the salt in the lime juice and pour it over the avocado flesh. Then add the other ingredients and mash with a fork until you have a rough lumpy mixture. Personally I like to leave it like this just mashed up with the fork so you get some nice lumpy bits as, by its nature, the avocado will be smooth anyway. However, if you prefer a smooth puree, just pop it in your blender and whizz, or use a hand blender.
Step 4 - Scoop guacamole into a bowl – colourful, if you have one.
Step 5 - Serve with chopped up vegetable sticks - cucumber, carrot or red pepper.
