About Metafit™
When I discovered the brand new Metafit™ bodyweight training system, it just made sense. It combines all of the elements I already use in my personal training and boot camp sessions in an effective workout that gets big results in only 30 minutes. I recently completed my Metafit™ training and tried it out for the first time last week at my Thursday morning boot camp. They loved it!
Join me tonight (or any Tuesday evening in May - more dates to be confirmed). The class starts at 7pm at Lockers Park Lane Fields, Hemel Hempstead HP1 1TH. Your first class is £2 and thereafter it's just £4 per session.
What's happening at Boxmoor Fitness?
Boot camps are now outdoors at Lockers Park Lane Fields. They take place every Thursday morning starting at 9:30am (£4) and evening at 6:45pm (£7 pay-as-you-go or £15 for the rest of May, 3xsessions). Just turn up ready to work out.
Personal training is £40 for a one hour session. Why not try one? My May special offers for personal training are:
- Three one-hour sessions are just £96 (saving £24) - that's £32 per session
- 10 sessions paid in advance are just £299 (saving £101) - that's £29.90 per session
May Healthy Eating Tip
It's always better to make your own food rather than buying ready-made foods which can have lots of additives like preservatives. When you cook from scratch, you know exactly what you're eating and can keep it fresh and healthy.
Healthy, Tasty May Recipe!
Home-Made Houmous
If you're having a drink in the evening or lunch in the park, houmous makes a tasty snack and, eaten with vegetables, can even count as one of your five a day. Here's my favourite recipe for this delicious Mediterranean dish.
Ingredients:
Serves 6.
- 400g can of chickpeas
- 3 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp tahini paste
- 2 garlic cloves, finely grated
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp pine nuts, lightly toasted
- 2 tbsp pomegranate seeds (optional, for added wow factor)
- A few mint leaves, torn
- Pinch of cayenne pepper
All these ingredients can be found in your local supermarket.
Method:
Step 1 - Drain the chickpeas, setting aside the liquid from the can. Pop the chickpeas in a food processor along with the lemon juice, tahini paste, garlic cloves, sea salt and 2 tbsps extra virgin olive oil. Add 50 ml of the reserved chickpea liquid, then blend for 3-5 mins on a low setting, until thoroughly mixed and smooth.
Step 2 - Spoon the houmous into a service bowl and make a shallow well in the centre. Drizzle the left over extra virgin olive oil in the well, then scatter over the pine nuts, pomegranate seeds and mint.
Step 3 - Sprinkle with the cayenne pepper then serve with chopped up vegetable sticks - cucumber, carrot or red pepper.
